Hey guys, my name is Hannah, and welcome to “A Special Strength,” an assorted collection of my writings and random thoughts. For an explanation of this blog’s name, check out one of my earlier posts entitled Welcome!
So, a little bit about me (because I’m guessing that’s why you’ve clicked on this page)…
I am a Registered Nurse in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (aka NICU, pronounced NICK-you), which means that I work with a wide range of kiddos, from those who are born extremely prematurely to big term kids with other health issues at birth. It’s not the easiest job, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
I am a Wonder Twin. My twin brother (who is my elder by two minutes and insists that this counts for something) is my best friend, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world!
Outside of nursing, I enjoy reading lots of books (often multiple ones at the same time), singing, playing guitar, listening to all kinds of music, pretending to organize my apartment, collecting things I don’t really need (hence the endless organizing), and sitting in my jammies while watching Netflix. I am a lifelong theater nerd who lives to be both an actress and a techie. I also have a weird obsession with office supplies and fun socks.
I have been dealing with anxiety, depression, and various physical health issues for years now, though God has blessed me with family and friends who have been helping me to sort things out. Mental health and stress relief are very important to me, and will likely appear many times in my writings.
I am a Christian. Jesus has given me everything, and I want to do the same in return. Seeing so much darkness and hate in the world strengthens my desire to shine brightly and share the hope of Christ to those who need it. I love teaching Sunday school for my preschool kiddos, and I hope to go on medical missions trips in the not-to-distant future.
Writing this blog is like therapy for me, sometimes. It’s a way to process the thoughts and stories in my mind. Hopefully, these thoughts and stories will help/amuse/encourage others along the way.
Now that you know a little bit about me, please feel free to browse through my blog; I promise that there is much more to me than what is written here in this profile!
Hope you enjoy, and as always, please feel free to subscribe and comment!
