So, an explanation of the blog’s name… it’s a blend of two different ideas. During nursing school, someone (I have forgotten exactly who) told me that neonatal nurses need to have “a special kind of strength” to survive – strength to deal with a wide range of complex and emotionally straining situations with their tiny patients and their families.
The second idea that went into this blog’s name was the theme throughout the Bible of God giving His people remarkable strength just when they needed it. It’s no secret that this world is messed up, and it’s going to get worse before it gets better. But God has promised that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength, and that He will never leave us or forsake us. And while Christians are here on this earth, we are to use this strength to be lights in the darkness, showing God’s love to everyone we encounter.
This blog is going to be a blend of stories from my nursing career, along with random stories from my life outside of work. Some of the stories will be inspirational, some instructional, and others just plain random. Please buckle up, hold on tight, and enjoy the ride!
